signup form doesn't seem to render an error when email already has an account

I had an app owner send me an invite to join a Heroku app. I didn't have an account with Exceptional before. I didn't read the emails closely and didn't realize that an account was automatically setup for me.

I went to create an account a week later and tried to signup on the main page but received no email or validation errors. If I hadn't looked in firebug, there was no way to tell that a request had been made. I tried in Safari 5 and Firefox 3.6.

I did get a flash message on the dedicated login page.
