exc test works great in dev, but not in prod:

$ ./vendor/gems/exceptional-2.0.1/bin/exceptional test Loading Rails environment.
/home/steve/.gem/ruby/1.8/gems/rails-2.3.5/lib/rails/gem_dependency.rb:119:Warning: Gem::Dependency#version_requirements is deprecated and will be removed on or after August 2010. Use #requirement Problem sending exception to Exceptional. Check your API key.

Any idea why? Same yml file.

    Hi Steven,
    That is a very old version of the exceptional gem. The first thing I'd do is update it. There probably won't be a problem then but if there is feel free to reopen this ticket!
    Best regards,
    Ciaran Lee

    I updated the gem to 2.0.26 and it's still:

    Problem sending exception to Exceptional. Check your API key.

    Hi Steven,

    That is odd. Is this a rails app? Open up the rails console and see if 'Exceptional::Config.api_key' returns your API key. If not then it isn't reading the config file.

    Regards,
    Ciaran Lee

    Yes, it is reading the proper api key.

    I have no idea what is happening here. Try this from the rails console:
    Exceptional.handle Exception.new('an error with a title I made up')

    Hopefully it will return true.

    What is your app's id?

    returned nil in both dev (where test worked) and prod (where test did not)

    Hi Steven,

    Sorry about the delay in getting back to you on this. It's difficult one to debug...

    What output do you see when you run 'Exceptional::Config.should_send_to_api?'

    Dev:

    >> Exceptional::Config.should_send_to_api?
    => false

    Prod:
    >> Exceptional::Config.should_send_to_api?
    => true

    Hi Steven,
    Do you have exception_notifier or Hoptoad installed? I'm struggling to understand why this isn't working as it sounds like it's configured fine.

    Hi Steven,
    Are there other rails apps running on this server that can successfully send exceptions? Do you have anything that might be hindering the communication, like stringent firewall rules?

    I got an exception the other day and test just worked from prod. What
    every you did fixed it. Thanks!!

    Cheers,
